I learned how to embroider about two months ago and I've been crazy about it ever since. I made a few embroidery Christmas presents too. I didn't draw any of these images myself... most are from the pattern thread and Hoop Love group on flickr.

These are in chronological order.

Hello Kitty! My first embroidery thing. I used backstitch and applique stitch.

This is my favorite so far, even though the eyes look a little weird. Embroidering faces is hard!
Outline with some applique stitch on some fabric from a silky shirt from the thrift store.

now on to the Christmas stuff:

It's Tuck from Wonder Pets! My friends and I get a kick out of that show. You should definitely watch it if you haven't already.
So yep, this was a present for a friend.

A close up. I think I used backstitch and whipped backstitch and french knots for the eyes.

This one was for my mom. Done with split stitch.

The next three are handkerchiefs I made for a friend. I spent an hour at the fabric store rubbing my face on all the fabrics to find the perfect one!

Eh I took this picture with a camera phone. It's a seagull done with split stitch.

Another phone picture. A pinup girl, in case you couldn't tell. Split stitch.

Corn dog hanky! Chain stitch corn dog, split stitch stick, and applique ketchup.

The back. Once, it took me a few minutes to realize that I was embroidering on the wrong side.

Whew! Well... thanks for sticking through all that. My next project is embroidering on shoes!

I love them. Makes me want to try my hand at embroidery. And I can't wait to see the shoes.

My nephew is obsessed with Wonder Pets! Great job on Tuck! These are all super cute. I like the pinup and the face a lot.
