Ooh I love the fabric! Unfortunately I don't think my skills reach to coat making at the moment, but I'd LOVE to give something like this a go!

Wonderful job. Shocked Bound buttonholes even! I agree that the thought of plaid is much more scary than actually sewing it. You just have to cut pieces out one at a time.
