When I was a kid, my favorite dinosaur was the stegosaurus. So was my boyfriend's. And so, we adopted a foam stegosaurus, Stanley. And today I made Stanley a friend: her name's Eru (for reasons too embarrassing to explain  Tongue)

Stanley and Eru

head-on

I made her this evening, took me a couple hours. I made a vague pattern, but kind of fudged it along the way. I had to do a little surgery on her legs so she could stand up properly, but I think I did an okay job seeing as I don't make stuffed animals very often.

Body: white fleecy material
Spikes: pink/white-gingham flannel, black/white-gingham cotton
Eyes: puffy paint

Holy spiky dinosaur, Batman, that's AMAZING!!!

I just LOVE him! You did a really great, job, especially since you just kinda made up the pattern! I love his little plates! I'd like to try and figure out how to make one for my boyfriend, as well as a brontosaurus and maybe a t-rex!

The little spiky things (can't remember what they're called) look really cool! Who'd have thought gingham on a dinosaur would work so well?! I love its cute little legs and the innocent expression on its face too Smiley

She's adorable.  I love the use of ginham for her spikes.

It seems like the only way yo make toys like that stand is to either:
a put a dart inside the leg near the body
b fudge it! lol

your stegosaurus is so cool I love how sweet it is! Great job!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! The next day I actually unstuffed her (haha my boyfriend was so distressed) and resewed her underbelly and legs, such that the inner leg and underbelly were no longer in the same "plane". I really don't know how to describe it :S but her legs are better now Smiley
