I recently had a friend ask me to repair a sculpture I made of his dog - it lost an ear. I made the staffy almost 2 years ago, and my technique has evolved a lot since then. So I decided to repair the sculpture and make a new one.
So here is the result:

Sculpture #149 (Ruby the staffy December 30 2008) on the left and sculpture #4 (Ruby the staffy January 10 2007) on the right.

And here is the real Ruby:

What a difference 2 years makes!  Smiley

Those who say it can't be done shouldn't interrupt the person doing it.

Practice makes perfect-- your second one looks almost identical to the real thing.  I bet your friend is happy!

Wow...this is inspirational!  Your first try is great, but the second is much better!

The dog reminds me of one my mom used to have.  It was part beagle and part dachsund.

wow!  what an amazing evolution of your skills. i agree that the first one is great but you've really got it down with the second.

Wow, that is amazing progress in your felting skills! The first one was good, but the second one is incredible. I could compare my work from 2 years ago to my current felting, but hey, one felt ball looks like the next. lol!! Grin

That's awesome. Although I do love them both. I think the first one is cuter, but the second one is more realistic.  I've seen so much change in my own techniques just over the past few months that I've been felting, it will be cool to see after two years (I'm hanging on to my first felted dog just for this purpose).
