Hello! nice square!! like i said i might join in with this.. maybe some squares.. we shall see! we dont need blankets in our apartment as its ALWAYS HOTTER THAN THE SUN!!! so i cant really make it for myself. i might make one for an auntie of mine.

How do i find the CAL on ravelry? i am kind of interested in maybe doing the 6" squares also.

I have also decided that this year i am goin to use up my stash and make hats and blankets for charity. Yay!

What a pretty square. I can't wait to start. Also, your square is nicer than the ones on the pattern page. The bright colour makes the pattern more visible, the light colours make it kind of blurry.

Thanks! But, I bet it will look very nice in some lovely hand-dyed yarns, too Wink

I just added the link (to the Raverly CAL) to the first post in this thread. Let me know if it doesn't work properly...

And, zombiecazz, your square looks great! I really do like it in more than one color.

I'm hoping I don't have too many squares that folks did as fillers last year! Problem is, whenever I came across a square I liked, I saved it to a folder. I didn't make a note of whether it had been done as a filler in the CAL, so there are probably a couple more that some folks have already done... Hopefully, that doesn't turn some folks off. I did pick squares that hadn't been done as the "official" squares in the last 2 CALs, though...

I made my first square today, and let me tell you:  I really like this pattern!

Mine came in too small, too, but I just did another round of dc and it came out the right size.

I'm doing mine as a kind of scrap afghan... using my bigger scraps, I guess.

Here is my January square:

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to make fillers or not.

I Have no problem redoing fillers. I did them in the first place because I loved how they looked. This just gives me an excuse to do them in different colours.

Is it Ok if we post our ravelry squares here too?

Well I'm in Smiley  I'm new here (just joined tonight) but this seems like a good place to jump in!  I have been X-sitching Christmas stockings the last couple months, but was sitting here this evening and started getting the itch to crochet, which started me surfing the web for ideas and I found this site!  I think I'm going to pack away the stocking I just started and pull out my yarn stash for inspiration for this project.

fantasticmio, I love your color combo- it's similar to the one I'm using (note the present tense... ahem...) for the 2007 CAL! And, your square came out great!

zombiecazz, I'm glad you don't mind if you run into duplicates Wink And, I think the Ravelry squares will make great "fillers" so feel free to post them here as well. I'm hoping to try them, too. I have another color scheme (Red Heart yarns), but I need one more color and I can't figure out which one to get.

oooh, those are lovely colours fantasticmo! they are quite similar to what i pulled out the stash to use for my square. I just started and I am really surprised at how fast it is- I am thinking I might do a scrap one to donate to charity and a colour co-ordinated one to keep!

Can I ask a silly question- what are these filler squares people keep talking about?!  I am heading over to look at the ravelry thread now!

is it any coincidence that the word yearn is one letter away from being yarn?
