This is my first purse/bag (and my first real, completed sewing project) and I know it's not perfect, so please be kind. Smiley It was a gift for my sister, who is a life-long Michael Jackson fan.

I used the famous Jordy bag tutorial and the zippered-pocket tutorial https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=11808.0, and made a few small modifications. I made it to be roughly the same dimensions as my own purse, which is about 8"x12"x3".

First I completed the most important feature of the bag: I cross-stitched a sprite of Michael Jackson from the Sega Genesis game, Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, on a piece of fabric for the front of the bag using some waste canvas. I outlined him with some metallic floss to make him really stand out. Smiley He's about 4" tall.

I lined the bag with a fabric to match Michael's blue shirt, added the zippered pocket, and a magnetic clasp.

I also added a big, deep pocket across the back, lined with the same fabric as the inside.

It was way more work than I realized it would be, but she seemed to really like it. Smiley

Okay...this is a little random, but I used to love MJ back in the day.  I used to have a sticker album and I had more than one ages dedicated to my MJ stickers.

I love this project.  Congrats on the sewing and thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I am interested in personal swaps...and kittens...and rocks.  Weird huh?
