I periodically rummage through my mom's closet looking for things she never wears that I can chop up and the other day I found this nice houndstooth '80s blouse (shoulder pads and all) and I've been trying to think of something simple to do with it. I'm not yet ready to take on a full fledged garment so I made a pidge scarf! I also used some teal knit fabric I bought for reasons I can't remember. It feels a little loose when I wear it, but I love it lots and it's a nice addition to many of my outfits. I'm thinking to make more in other patterned fabrics from crazy pants I also found in her closet.

My measurements were 8"x20" but one side still ended up wider than the other. Don't know if you can tell that from the picture though. Pardon the incense smoke stains and ladder. Wink

What do you guys think?

P.S. I wasn't sure where this goes so if it must be moved, please do!

What a great way to recycle something outdated into something au courant that will chase away the winter chill.

Ooh it's really cute. I might have to make one! And I go through my mom's closet with the same purpose all the time. She's learned to keep a close watch on her stuff.

That's pretty dang awesome! Great, versatile accessory.

Stylist and designer, a fashionista with a subversive streak. I believe that fashion should be fun and fortifying, not mean or oppressive.
