It was Valentine's Day 2007.  Two weeks prior, I had given birth to our daughter, so I thought my hubby needed a special valentine (TMI: after you give birth you can't be "active" for 6 weeks).  Every year I make him a valentine as a silly gesture, and this year it had to be something he wasn't expecting.

So I decided to make him a Boob valentine.  Yes, breasts.  Boobies.  Some call it immature, but I call it love, baby.  Love.

Here's what I came up with:

If you can't see what it says because of the terrible lighting and compression, it says "I think we're quite a pair!  ...get it?  I love you!"

I used vellum for the bra and hand-cut those scalloped edges and the "lace" on the bra with an X-acto knife.  I had just started venturing into paper crafts (not that I'm doing anything more than wading right now) and I had to work with what I had.

The little bow has gotten squished with storage, but it was PERFECT, I tell you!  PERFECT!  Sorry, I was really all too proud of it, since I did tie it myself.   Cool

Here's a close-up of the shiny nipple... I put embossing powder on it so it would be more prominent.

Anyway, I don't think it's anything amazing, but it occurred to me as I was reading the Valentine's "classroom" card exchange discussion thread that I hadn't ever shared it with anyone but hubby and a few close friends.  And I was pretty proud of it.

I hope you enjoy!  Please laugh or tell me how childish I am at 26 years old to find it amusing, or tell me my bow-tying skills can never be matched.  Whatever you wish!

Edit:  he loved it, by the way!  Smiley
