swear word ahead.

For my good friend's birthday/christmas present (the two occasions are 6 days apart) I decided to fashion for her the most epic stuffed animal she could wish for. Her favourite movie (and my 2nd favourite) is "Everything Is Illuminated", in which there is a deranged mutt named Sammy Davis Jr, Jr. whom the Grandfather claims is his seeing eye dog (he;s not actually blind) but since the family is Ukrainian and they don't speak english very well, their attempt at making a uniform for the dog to make her seem more official is badly translated to "officious seeing eye bitch".

Keep in mind this is my first attempt at stuffed animals, and the legs and bum are all lopsided, not to mention i ran out of brown felt and hence the hind legs are smaller and less mobile than the front legs, which looks silly....but it's the best I could make of the situation.

for reference

the BEST view!!

thanks for looking!

Very good 1st attempt.  Your dog is adorable and I am sure your friend is going to love it.  If you don't mind me asking did you follow a pattern?

OMG LOVVVVVVVVE Everything is Illuminated!! (Even though seeing Alex on screen was amazing, the book was infinitely more fulfilling)  You did a great job on Sammy Davis Jr. Jr.  She looks very intricate and well made!

I don't remember what the site was, but it was linked from the "free patterns" thing on the sewing forum. Anyway, I found a pattern there for a daschund, and as it was the only dog pattern i could find for free, I loosely based this off of that pattern. kept the head hte same, but shortened the body, put a pipe cleaner in the tail and invented the legs on my own.

thanks for the comments!
