I've been meaning to try a felt mosaic with prefelt for a while.  I use prefelts a lot, and keep all the leftover bits.

I put down four layers of grey, then arranged and lightly needled the prefelt 'tiles' on top. This took a long time.

Then I wet felted the whole thing.

The tiles smeared together a bit, I think I should have spaced them farther apart. The cut edges of the prefelts tend to 'spread' a bit when wet felted. I'm planning to try some more mosaic style projects and see if I can get the result to look like a real mosaic.

Using the prefelt as tiles is a neat idea.  I can see that making a really cute pillow.

BTW your asssistant/model is gorgeous!

I never needle felt the prefelt onto the wool fibres. I am not that patient. I just make it wet and start very gently "massaging/ rubbing." Maybe a tip to spare time.... Huh
It works for me!
