My first posted project:

Woven out of strips of newspaper, covered in clear duct tape on the outside and contact paper on the inside (to prevent that inevitable duct-tape-bag syndrome - where everything gets really sticky once the bag starts falling apart Roll Eyes)

Closeup of the "weaving".

Flap and Velcro closures.

Zipper pocket on the inside.

Any comments would be great  Wink.

Does anyone know of a good type of closure? I've tried plain loops of tape, Velcro. All sorts of stuff. Magnetic clasps are usually good, but won't work for this.

That's awesome, I love it!

Maybe u could do a button loop hole thing. Like sew in a little loopy thing to the flap and sew in a button to the bag part? It might work Smiley

that Is SO FRIGGIN AWESOME! fantsmical. agoobwuh. So hot I had to make up a word! Now I know what to do with all the Sunday Paper Color-comics I've saved, patiently awaiting the craft of the century to come along and be made... I do beleive this is it! one question, though, how does it hold up? I'm usually carrying about a textbook, my trapper and maybe a novel, do you think it would hold, as long as i made it big enough?

Wow!  I LOVE this!!!

zippers and duct tape...who'd a thunk?!!

For a closure...are you sure you need one?  With a flap that overhangs so much, wouldn't it pretty much stay closed on it's own?  What if you put a couple of extra layers of paper/tape on the bottom part of the flap to make it heavier...this might weigh it down and keep it closed better.

Or else, you could add a couple of little straps and attach buckles!!!
