How far would 150g of crochet cotton get me in terms of the number of snowflake middles??

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but I just made 13 middles out of one ball of Bernat Satin.  It's 100% acrylic, 100g / 3.5 oz, and suggests (and I used) a 5mm hook.   The label says it was approximately 149 m / 163 yards, and I have almost exactly 5 feet left.

I got my hexes done!

In this picture there are four rows all joined together, and the other rows are joined as rows, but not joined to the blanket yet.

I still have other projects I ought to be finishing but this has been haunting me  Grin so I started it just now, one snowflake done so far, I had a few false starts where I ended up with only 5 points  Roll Eyes but I know where I went wrong so it's all systems go on this until I get fed up or run out of yarn *lol*
I'm using a 4mm hook and DK yarn in white for the snowflakes and probably purple for the contrast....depends what's in stash at the mo'  Cheesy Point to point my snowflake measure 5" across.

I have 8 snowflakes now and probably enough white DK left to make it up to 20 before I have to buy more yarn.

I ran out of yarn at 15 snowflakes so tonight I'd work on the coloured part of them until I can get to the shops tomorrow  Smiley
