So at the thrift store the other day I saw this huge sweater for $1. I really like the colors and the way it opened...well it just really got my creative juices flowing...so today I made this:

It's one of those "too long to be a shirt but too short to be a dress" tops that you wear with leggings.

AND I made these uber cute leg warmers:

AND I made a bikini top as an after thought!

It all came from this very frumpy sweater:

I resized it using a very fitted T-shirt and baste stitching around it:

Once I tried it on and figured out how I wanted the sleeves and such I sewed the outline twice to prevent freying using a very small stitch on my machine.

I realized as soon as I cut off the sleeves that they would make great leg warmers, and the bikini top was made from the scraps of the leg warmers!

I think this is very cute with leggings but it is also cute with just jeans. What do you think?

Wow, that's a lot of garments to get out of one sweater!  Very impressive and cute!

Very creative...but you might want to wear leggings and not tights. The pictures are almost xrated. lol!

Haha, it's really not that short, it just looks that way cos I have unreasonably long legs. I also didnt even realize that those tights have one of those bands until I saw these photos taken with a flash!

Thanks for the comments!

I can't lie, this is pretty righteous. Awesome job! I was going to say you should wear it to work so I can see it, but I don't want you to get beet juice or something on it.
