hey yall!

I would really start to make my own plugs (earrings for stretched ears). I have seen some made out of resin and have heard that it is not safe for your ears (because it is porous and it can leak toxins) Is Sculpey clay safe (it says it is non toxic on the package) but if it is porous does it need to be sealed? If so that kind of sealant would you suggest?

Thanks!

I think this was raised earlier and the general consensus was no, it's not really safe for plugs. Apparently it can continue to give off chemicals into your skin.

I have recently started making sculpey plugs.  Rather than worry about toxins, I wear them with ear skins (which hopefully offer some kind of protection, I'm just kind of guessing  Smiley )

For anyone interested, this question was also addressed on the Polymer Clay Discussions & Questions board:

(There are several other threads there that have discussed it too.)
