Does anyone know how to enamel copper using a torch? I've got all the supplies I need (I think)- copper discs, powdered glass, liquid adhesive, copper cleaner, but no kiln. I have read that it is possible to fired with the torch, but I haven't seen any directions. I looked at Thompson Enamel online, but I was told their instruction manuals deal with kiln firing. I would like to fire on both sides of the copper, also.

I'm always thinking one step ahead. Like a carpenter that makes stairs.

Hey there!
I have been looking into this as well, and its hard to find full info on how to do a torch enamel project. But I decided that I just want to try, and I will see how it goes. I found copper leaf shaped bits, also disks like you, and stick like shapes. I ordered some tiny little bits of enamel powder for it, there was a dutch shop selling small test tubes filled with color, only one euro for each color. That seemed prefect for experimenting. I took some autumn colors.

I am still searching for a torch. For me it has to be pretty low budget but it seems that a friend has one that I can borrow Cheesy

How are you going to protect your workplace? I still need to think on that myself. I dont have a basement or shed, so it will have to happen inside. My worktable is made of wood Tongue so I will need to use something to make it save.

I`d love to hear how everything is going over there, if you decide to go on with your enamel project. Maybe we can help each other Smiley

I just found out that this topic already exists for quite a while, a couple of years! So I am 'way' too late. Its early morning here, I guess that must be my problem Tongue still need coffee.

Sorry, did not see it in time!
