I liked that little book ornament idea, so I made one. I put a white tagboard M on the front cover for our name, and wrote 2008 on the back. You know the little sheets with picture thumbnails you get when your photos are developed? I used the one of our wedding pics and made it into a little photo album. I left some spaces for us to write memories and stuff too. It looks just beautiful and my husband loves it..we plan to make a little book every year from now on.

Her dirty paws and furry coat,
She ran down the forest slope.
The forest of talking trees,
They used to sing about the birds and the bees.
The bees had declared a war,
The sky wasn't big enough for them all.

Wow, you guys all have great ideas!

I am knitting us stockings this year - and yes, we will be filling each others' stockings - and each year that we've been together we've made a special trip of going to pick out one new ornament together.  We have already decorated, together, and had a really good time.  I may do the small book idea, but probably will make some sort of ornament that ties into our wedding.  Thanks for all of the ideas!  I'd love to hear more, if anyone's got 'em Smiley

Oh, and we got married the 23rd.  Congrats to you other August brides!! Cheesy

i care about you a homemade oven mitt's worth.

so i was at the store the other day looking at the ornamentsa and happened upon this really pretty first married christmas ornament, it was $22 I loved that ornament but not for that much, it was a 3 tierd wedding cake shaped bell and the part that made it ring was 2 intertwined rings, then my idea hit me, i'm going to print out one of the pictures i took of our rings and make a little frame for it string it up as an ornament write the year on it and hang it on the tree, i will be sure to post a pic here when i do it! hehe

I've been married for almost six years  Shocked but for our first Christmas I made an ornament from one of our Wedding invitations.  I just took a clear ball ornament (you know the ones that are 6 for $1) and then cut out the words from our invitation in strips and then put them in the ball. For a hangar, I used the ribbon from our invitation but you could could use ribbon from one of your favors or decorations or something. I'm new so I'm not allowed to post photos yet so here's a link. (I hope it works)

steph.reads, LOVE the ornament idea!!  We just got married in October and have a bunch of invites leftover so I think I'm going to try that too!  Thanks for including the picture...I was able to see it just fine!  We're having our first Christmas celebration together this coming weekend and I've been looking for something crafty we can both do!  Thank you!
