some party dresses i made this week! everyone needs a party dress. or four Wink

i bought this disgustingly glittery dress at a thrift store last week... it was $7, so one of the more expensive dresses i've bought Roll Eyes for everyone who saw it before i started cutting, their first response was, "... really? ew." i ended up redoing the sleeves to 3/4 length and giving them black cuffs, cutting the neckline to scoop lower and edging that with black, slimming the whole thing down and shortening it and adding a black band, and then cutting swirlies out of the sides and sticking some black in there. turned out pretty great, i think!

it doesn't look at glittery and awesome in the pictures as it does in real life, but believe me when i say it freakin' SPARKLES. there's tinsel or some other gold junk in there, on a black background... and surprisingly enough, it's actually quite soft on the inside. no itchies! Tongue but my craft room is definitely covered in glitter now. lots of glitter.

da front

side with swirlies.
i realize my body looks reeeeally freakin weird in that picture... i don't know why Huh i'm sure i was sucking my stomach in, but i swear i don't look that disfigured in real life.

oh, and here's what the dress looked like before i cut it up:

one more:
this one was just a result of me being bored and listening to terrible music. the brown is actually part of a dress that i bought at a thrift store (same one i got the glitter dress one; this thrift store seriously OWNS); it's a vintage express dress. well, it's from express and the tag looks real old and wierd, idk. anyway, that's the dress yoke. the white is some really absurd fleecy stretchy something that seriously feels like silky velour. i swear, i buy some of the weirdest fabric. it's hard to tell in the pictures, but the way the brown fabric was sewn as a dress, it had a lot of seams... so i couldn't get one full piece out of it without a seam. hence, the seam straight down the middle. i threw some little gold crest buttons on one of the shoulders, but i don't think you can see it from these pictures Roll Eyes

the dress

me just being artsy and a cam whore.

brown dress before i cut it. see what i mean about the seams?

i also have another dress that i made with the leftovers from the gold glitterfest, but i don't have a picture of it at the moment. if i have a chance, i'll take one over the weekend and edit it into the post.
anyway, thanks for looking! Kiss as always, please let me know what you think! Grin Grin

Wow, that glittery dress is fantastic - and don't worry, your body does not in any way look "weird" in any of the pics!

Damn that first dress is HAWT!!!! LOVE THAT Smiley Scream New Years Eve to me Cheesy
That second one is cute also I love the detail around the neckline L)

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

That sparkly dress was pretty ugly before you transformed it! You have such a good eye for turning things beautiful. Great work!
