I started making an amigurumi bird from this lovely pattern (http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/birds.html).  I have the body, but the first wing I made came out really wonky.  I think I might take it out.  Has anybody used this pattern before?  I was also looking for other bird patterns so I could use a different wing pattern but I couldn't find any good ones.  I would love any tips/help!  thanks so much!!

The body with the weird wing:

I've used the pattern, I love the pattern!!

You can see a bad photo of how I did it here:

From memory I elected to join the rows that make up the length of the wing in a different way to what was written in the pattern. It made no sense to me, so as I came back towards the round, I would slipstitch into the round, then slipstitch again on the next stitch along on the round to turn and go back the other way.

Does that make sense?

Let me know if you strike any more problems - it wouldn't take me long to crochet up another wing and actually pay attention to what I'm doing.

The heart pattern comes from here:
