Hi I made a bag a while ago, first time too Cheesy... I got the inspiration from the Bambi record school tote on craftster. Anyways I made mine the same way and I really like it, only now I think I will make the strap shorter so It is a tote bag and not a messenger type bag.
The fabric I used on the outside is brown with stars from wal marts remenents bin and the lining is bright floral slippery material from a moo moo that I found. lol good times. I added a fabric flower to it and the front says Heidi and the back tells the story of Heidi. I got the record sleeve for free from value village because there was no record in it. score! And Thats my purse it would make more sense if my name was Heidi but I like it anyway.

here are the pics..

is the sleeve covered in  a clear vinyl?

Now the wintertime is coming,
The windows are filled with frost.
I went to tell everybody,
But I could not get across.
Well, I wanna be your lover, baby,
I don't wanna be your boss.
Don't say I never warned you
When your train gets lost.
