Soooo super cool. They remind me of the NY firefighters calendar- a staple in my house for the last 2 years. Way to go for hot men!
Thank you! I did firefighter ones awhile back -
very
popular at the craft fair. Ahem.

Is it wrong that I can think of about ten gay male friends who would ADORE these? I mean, handmade kitsch and super-hunky men, you can't go wrong.
Excellent job!
Wrong? It seems obvious to me!

Thank you! I've only ever made potholders and boxer shorts out of this type of Alexander Henry fabric and wonder just what else one could make myself. A lot gets wasted with the potholders and it seems a bit of a shame.

MissT - the odds and ends can be used for quilts. Some ppl on Craftster are making postage stamp quilts which uses squares as small as 1.5". You could provide them scraps in swaps.

These are fantastic!
Where did you get the scorch-proof fabric for the backing?!?
I have seen the outdoor men and firemen fabric on ebay here - for everyone else who wants some too!
http://stores.ebay.ca/Emerald-City-Fabric-and-Craft_Alexander-Henry_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZQ2d1QQfsubZ6800013QQftidZ2QQtZkm
There are cowboys too!
Can we see a close-up of one of the labels? I notice there's a little label on each one...

That's a great idea for the scraps! After the holidays I might just have it together to gather all that up and see if I can't work a swap with someone.
It sells out fast at my local fabric shops, but when I do find it they're usually having a sale or I have a coupon.

I got it at the fabric store over by the interfacing that's on bolts. It comes on a roll. There is also stuff called Insul-brite that is similar, but not exactly the same (at least from what I could see) that is sold in packages in the same area. It's also called ironing board cover material and similar.
I have gotten some of my fabric from that ebay seller and it's always been very fast and trouble free. I've made cowboys, firemen, construction workers and these as well as some with some retro-style girl pin-ups called "The Great Outdoors". So fun!
My shop posting has a close up of the label that I made using facric that you can print on with an inkjet printer.

I was wondering about printing on fabric with inkjet. Is it permanent? Which one do you use? Is it light fast too?
