Ok, so I'm not sure if this is where I'm supposed to post this or not, but I am in the process of making presents for my sister AND my sister-in-law.  What I need to know is, what are some things that you find that you're always needing the most as a teacher?  What are some of the things that you just wish you had, or had more of.

I plan on making them both a personalized journal and decorated pen to go with, a tote to carry all of their teaching supplies in and perhaps some personalized stationary and post-it notes for notes home to parents.  But I'm at a loss as to what else to make for them.  Any help would be very much appreciated!

Things I would have liked when I was teaching...
A really nice quilted or insulated lunch bag.
A heavy-duty messenger bag (or other tote bag).
A sweater or vest to keep at school (temperatures are never constant).
A photo album, or scrapbook, to keep photos/mementos of students/classes. (I kept one of past classes/projects/field trips/etc. in my classroom for my students to look through)

Those are great ideas, thanks so much for your input Smiley  I was planning on making them totes so that will cover that part...I think I'll do the scrapbook thing too! Thank you!

Do teacher education students count?  Wink

I know I am always looking for better ways to organize all my information. Also classroom materials (I've noticed that pens are always running low in the Middle School.) and bulletin board materials. Dry erase markers/chalk.

What Grade levels/subjects do they teach? (I might be able to come up with more stuff if I know this)

They're both elementary school teachers Smiley  The dry erase stuff is a good idea, maybe I can get them a few of those markers, thank you!

Stickers!  No lie, a friend of mine's a speech therapist for the local elementary and middle schools, and she's always looking for fun, motivational stickers.
