My nephew wanted to be Bumblebee from the Transformers for Halloween so my mom made him this costume...

(blacked out his face cause my bro/sis-in-law never got back to me to let me know if I could post the pics or not)

We bought black sweatpants and sweatshirt as the base, then spraypainted a bike helmet, and finished up with a lot of spraypainted foam hotglued or velcroed into place! To do the Transformers symbol my mom created a stencil then painted it on with craftpaint.

Used LED lights in the helmet and Transformers symbol

In-Action Shot!

Really great costume. I MUST stop looking at posts when the grandson is hanging over my shoulder. He thinks craftster is a wish book!!

Ahhahhaha, that is *so* awesome!

That is so awesome! Way better than my nephew's store bought Optimus Prime costume!

When he said he wanted to be Bumblebee my mom first went to the store to see what their costume looked like to get ideas but when she saw it she decided to go off of the toys instead. It worked out really well being able to turn it over in her hands to see how to make the costume. I've been showing her the replies and she's really happy everyone likes it so much! Grin

I LOVE THIS!!! I am a huge bumblebee fan. I want to make myself one of these costumes.

Wow! That is some seriously great work Tongue
I really like how proportionate he's come out. I've seen a few home-made Bumblebee's and Optimus' who just don't look right.

I bet he was a massive hit trick-or-treating!

Keep smiling - It makes people wonder what you're up to.

Looking for Australian personal swaps! [For now. I'll branch overseas when I can afford it!]

Wow, she did a seriously awesome job. Your nephew was probably the envy of all the kids (and some adults) in the neighbourhood!
