This is possibly NSFW, depending on your employers policy on photos of giant cartoon-ish vagina costumes. Smiley Also, very picture heavy.

I typically don't like to doubble post things, as I already posted this in the Craftster Challenge, but I was really happy with the way it turned out, and I wanted to share it with more people!
This is what happens when a crafty feminist who loves to be the centre of attention , and loves making costumes decides to be something "unique" for Halloween.

A giant vagina!

I designed and sewed myself. Unfortunately I did not take pictures of it in the crafting stage.
Viola, the final product. It's made from satin and velvet, and even has a "pocket" (handy for my camera) where the...um... well you get the picture:

The "hood" has a little button that says feminist on it.

Insert obvious title here Smiley:

We headed down to the gay "village" and danced the night away:

With the bf. At a certain point in the night his costume (also made by me, to recycle my no longer used undergraduate chemistry garb) went from "mad scientist" to "her gynecologist." I think he was a wee bit jealous of the attention I was getting.

Apparently my vagina is a show girl:

Happy Halloween!

OMG, that is quite creative, I am sure you were the conversation piece of the gay bar.  Great job, and you are very brave.  You know when you go to the fabric store to purchase fabric, and the nice lady who is cutting your fabric aways asks "What are you going to make"  I would have loved to be there when you told her  LOL

Holy crap, that's fantastic! And yes, you are brave. If I tried to wear that, I'd turn as red as the...well, you know.

::dies laughing::  That would be awesome in general, but the fact that you took it to a gay neighborhood makes it 10x better.  That must have been the scariest Halloween costume they could imagine Wink

Lol.. so funny. I did actually hear lots of comments about that. Also from a drag queen, "Darlin that's the second one I've ever seen in my life. My mama poped me out and I turned around and went 'blaaawah.. I'm gay!'"

I think that's the best costume I've ever seen! I would have laughed and laughed- heck, I am laughing now!
I second that you are incredibly brave to wear it.
Sure, the gay guys might have been scared, but I bet the straight ones felt an overwhelming compulsion to get near you, touch you, etc. LOL!

In the end, only kindness matters.

So huge and shiny! lol, but I love it.
It does take a lot of bravery to go out as a giant vulva. But you rocked it.
