Beware the power of my Sonic Seam Ripper!

This was made for an old friend's son, Daniel.  I knew she was having a boy, but never received an official paper invitation to the baby shower, so I didn't know anything about the items she had registered for.  She wanted something that was very "manly" as her military husband was super excited to be having a boy.  I tried searching for a pattern that I wanted to make, but nothing was interesting enough for Heather's new son.  So finally I just went to Joann's and wandered around, waiting to be inspired.  I bumped into the block fabric, and it's matching border print in the clearance section.  Instant inspiration!  Safari!  It's totally boy-friendly, but also sweet.  I picked out some interesting calicos to coordinate, and whipped this up in a day.  When I got to the shower, Heather started opening presents... all of which seemed to be african animals/safari themed.  Turns out that was what Heather had picked as her theme for the baby's room and everything she registered for!  So there I am with the perfect quilt.  How amazing is that?
