I've been a busy little chickadee the last few weeks, making up these hat patterns.  I am not completely happy with either one, but I'll post 'em anyway!

Here's the first one I made:

Unfortunately that was the best pic I could come up with.  The hat is really black, stockinette with a garter border, I just lightened it a bit in the solo shot in order to see the stitches.  It comes to a point at the top (earning it the name of 'weinie hat' from a friend of mine.  (As unlikely as it may seem, this friend who still uses the word 'weinie' is actually 17--not 9)).  Plus the garter stitch at the bottom is a lot looser than I like on a hat.  My little brother wears it now.

Here's the second:

Note the strategic camera in front of the face pose.  So for this one I did bobble stitches the whole way around one time, and I thought it was going to be great.  However, the decrease rows ended up taking a lot less space than I expected and this is a much shorter hat than I was going for.

Honestly, both hats were learning experiences--but man, I would kill to be one of those people who does stuff perfectly on his/her first try.

'weinie hat'

Hahaha, ahem,(Can you tell I am 13 going on 7?? Grin) I don't think they look bad at all. I really like the purple one. Good job!

I really like the purple-bobble one too. What yarn did you use? Great job--keep 'em comin'

Ah thanks for the compliments guys!   Grin

And Tere, both hats are just cheapy acrylic from the local Wal-Mart.  My yarn budget is so small as to be nearly nonexistent.
