HI All,

I am fairly new on here and fairly new to sewing. I have got a couple of projects going, but have to put them on halt for this one. Everyone on this site seems so kind and posictive and so creative! Anyway, I am more of a concept sewer than a pattern sewer, but any help would be great since I don't want tp mess up the expensive fabric i got. I realize it looks simple, but sometimes simple is the hardest. Here is the link: http://frillr.com/files/images/mary-kate-olsen-oscar.preview.jpg

Thank you all so much!!

You are right, it does look to me as if it would need just a touch more consideration and planning than a simple a-line. It is a sheath in front silhouette, but from the side on Mary Kate it looks more like a tent shape. That could be because of her height, or the way the model is holding it, I don't know.
If you want it to look fitted from the front and flared on the side silhouette, I think the front part will be a smaller piece. That way the arm hole forces the back piece to flare out, while not adding volume to the front so much. I hope that made sense.
Also it looks like the arm might have a pleated detail?  I heard a funnel neck is difficult to make like that, but it is chic. Good luck.
