Seriously. I have no idea what possessed me when I bought this lamp. It's about as bland, plain and uninspiring as can be, and slightly battered now after an incident involving a certain young man. I think it set me back about 2.50 in Wilkinsons a couple of years back. Maybe the price tag was the attraction? In any case I plead insanity at the time of purchase; please don't judge me harshly.



Thankfully, I had regained at least some of my sanity by the time Anna Maria Horner launched her "Garden Party" range of fabrics, and after drooling over the entire range for a while I bought a set of fat quarters. I've been hesitant to cut into those lovely FQs since I have a certain project in mind for some of them... but I finally took the plunge today. 10 minutes and half of a FQ of the "Centrepiece" fabric from the range totally transformed that lamp:



Ah, that's better. Much better.

(The little orange vase and olive green candlestick in the background are my finds from a jumble sale last weekend. Grin)

You have inspired me! I have 2 bedside lamps which are pretty much identical to that (5 for the pair from Asda- oh yes!) and i am going to revamp them..... now. hoorah!
