This is absolutely beautiful. I LOVE it! October is Domestic Violence Awareness month-I am going to have to show this to my coworkers. We may have need to adopt this saying. Great stitching-as usual! A very inspiring and uplifting piece!

I love it - the saying and the stiching.  Is the quote attributable to anyone?  It's ironic that I happened to come here today and see this - very appropriate to what I'm going through right now - no, not physical.  Anyhow, thanks for sharing.

yea i didn't want to get into it on craftster but yes it is.. i was in a horrible relationship for nearly two years.. he verbally abuse me on a daily basis and got physical a few times.. grabbing, throwing me around, throwing things at me.. then he ended up cheating on me. i am so sorry that you are going through something similar.. just know that you deserve better and there are good people out there to treat you better! keep you chin up and your strength and love for yourself. in the end you are all you have.

I think it's probably more important that we realize we are stronger than we usually give ourselves credit for. I think the men know and that is why some of them try to beat us down whether physically or emotionally rather than just improving themselves.

As someone that is old enough to be your mother, maybe grandmother, it seems like the work begun decades ago still isn't anywhere close to finished. Be strong. We deserve the best.

Edit: Forgot to say... Beautiful work. Display it in a special place. The frame is special too.

This is such a great piece. I love the floral border, and the way the font is decorative but not so swirly that it's illegible.

I've never been in an abusive relationship so far (thank goodness) but this message speaks to me as a girl who has lately realised that I rely way too much on my boyfriend. Now I'm trying to re-learn how to enjoy my time alone rather than always waiting for the next time I see or speak to him. I'm going to write this slogan down and put it on my corkboard to remind me that I can have a great relationship and still be independent. Thank you for sharing it with us Cheesy
