Hey guys. I hope this is the right place to ask this. But I can't for the life of me remember the names for those little crocheted make up remover pads. I am pretty sure they are Japanese and I would love to make some for gifts this year, but I can't look  up patterns or books to buy because I can't remember what they are called.

Thank you for your help.

I don't know what they're called, but googling it turned up pictures that are just circles - two or three rows of double crochet that turns out 2 - 3 inches across (depending on whose you see) done in cotton yarn.

Maybe include some home-made makeup remover with them? I found this, too http://tipnut.com/eye-makeup-remover-recipes/

Oh thanks for that reciepe. That is a fantastic idea! Thank you.

Yeah I know I could do circles, but I remember seeing some cute patterns for flowers, animals and things, in books and patterns for sale, of course I didn't buy them then. Thanks again!

In that case, you might try the applique section at crochet pattern central http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/appliques.php

Change the hook size to match your yarn, and you should be good. The fish is cute, the flowers, the star ... well, they're all cute, but those are the ones that grab me as especially workable. Monster Crochet's blog (http://monstercrochet.blogspot.com/) has some oddball stuff like fried eggs and a vampire bat.
