My husband and I were expecting our first child in late April, so you can imagine our surprise when my water broke two months early.   36 hours of labor, our bundle of baby boy was born.  He was bigger than they had expected, and doing so well (yay!) that they decided to send him home after only 5 days in the NICU.

Now our dilemma.  We had only gotten as far as picking out the colors for the room.  My husband kept insisting that we had plenty of time to work on it.  We also had very little baby items, as we were waiting to see what was given at the baby shower.

This is what we started with.

and this is what it looked liked when my son was born.

Our NICU had rules saying that you could not be away from the hospital for longer than three hours. So it was either myself or daddy sitting by baby's side, while the other worked on the room. Thanks to a lot of friends and family, we were able to get hand-me-downs of furniture so babe had some place to sleep!! Here is how it turned out.

artwork for the walls done with chalk.

My little guy is now doing very well, and will sleep anywhere and everywhere, except his room.  *sigh*

Lol, all that effort and he doesn't even appreciate it! You did an amazing job and congratulations on your new healthy baby Cheesy.

And from now until he leaves home, you will continue to work to his schedule... Tongue
