I consider myself a beginner! I'm still learning and ripping seams once in awhile because I don't know half of the things I'm doing (lots of trial and errors for me). If you have any tips...or suggestions...let me hear it! I don't think these pieces could be worn outside...except the dot one (except it's kinda tight...probably need to size up).

Had this sunny peach/orange print waiting to be used for over a year.

My BF's dad (he makes baby bedding and LOTS of baby stuff) told me that my current selection of fabrics were bad...and welcomed me to raid some of his higher quality cotton prints. With this one I altered the patterns a bit because I didn't want a dress...wanted a shirt.

Where is my mind?

Very cute!
And don't worry about having to seam rip, I've been sewing for years and I still have to. You do really beautiful work!

I like the second one as well, it appears to fit a little better.  I think it could definitely be worn outside!
I do think fabric choice can really make or break a piece, definitely could make you think something was more wearable outside.  I would go to the store and pick up some apparel fabrics, don't be afraid of trying to sew on some more difficult types of fabric!  Honestly, I pick the absolute hardest fabrics to sew with, but once the outfit is finally done, it just looks great.  (Only, be careful with jersey unless you have a walking foot or a serger)

And no worries, my seam ripper is the most used tool in my sewing room.  That is how I learned to sew as well!  Trial and error Smiley  Best way to learn.
