So I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to sew a sleeping bag with only a straight stitch machine. I'm considering just opting for a no-sew baggie, but I figured some of you might have some practical ideas for making this work. Any plans/tips?  Huh

Make them out of fleece and another tight weave cotton or cotton blend. Make sure they have a liner so the edges will not get caught up in their toes and it's harder for them to chew it. If you find the liner is coming out, sew around the edge of the bag so the liner will be inside always. I always look at the fabric remnants at the fabric store so you can have different colors.

Sorry to rehash an old topic - I am not sure if you are still looking for directions on how to make your rat sleeping bag.
Here is a tutorial on how to make one - I am sure with only a straight stitch you can make this - I made one for someone in the past and it was easy peasy.

Also check out the other crafts on the main craft page here - they are directed towards cavies but most would work for a rat as well!  I made a few things for a swap once from this page... I'd like to say I heard what happened about them all but I never heard boo - she actually fell off the face of the earth and completely disappeared, leaving numerous swaps high and dry..

Nonetheless.... check out this page of rodent links!

I hope it helps and that it is not too late.  I just have not been keeping up with my discussion boards lately!

I am collecting quilts, afghans & blankets for those that lost their homes.  Pm me!
