Hi Everyone -
I stupidly volunteered to make a purse for a local fundraiser auction, and I've never been confident enough to ever sell anything I make (I'm strictly gifts - no selly selly).

Anyhow, the purse is made, and I feel like it needs embellishment. I've taken some cruddy photos which are hard to see the colour from, but I'm looking for your help. Does any option look alright, or should I just knit something else....? Undecided

Here is the almost finished bag, ready for shaping etc (believe it or not it's a dark heathered green):

Should it have just the simple ribbon flower with a nice antique silver button for the closure like this (believe it or not all that ribbon is also a dark green):

Or should it be a bit more fun with a little bit of felt dots?

Can you help a sister out?

I haven't gotten any feed back yet (I know it hasn't been up for long)....so I think it might just not be worth putting in the auction. Hmmmmm.....

I like both, depending on what mood I'd be in. I'd probably use the first one more because it goes with my wardrobe but I still like the second one. It's fun.

I'd go with the ribbon flower or some similar add-on. And I'd attach it with a pin or other removable type backing (like a lapel pin) so that the user could change it at will. I have a huge collection of brooches/pins/etc. and would love to be able to use them on a purse like this.  You might even make several totally different kinds or colors of embellishments so the buyer of the purse could interchange them.

My vote goes to the ribbon flower! Smiley

I'd go with the ribbon flower too, and like Pat in MN suggests, might be a good idea for it not to be permanently attached so it could be changed.

I like the dots better personally, but it would probably appeal to a wider audience if you went with the removable thing like Pat in MN said. And it's totally cute!

I have been using earrings, or brooch pins. They look great and are not expensive.. If you have a lot of old jewelry around the house us it.  Really makes knit bags look expensive and original.

I vote for the flower as well.
And I love the idea of making it removable.
