don't forget that this coming weekend is art detour!

here's some details from the artlink website:

"More than 100 art studios, galleries and arts friendly businesses open their doors Friday night, Saturday all day and nighttime, too and Sunday for this self guided tour of downtown Phoenix artspaces. Maps available online and in the Central Library in February. Music, performers, paintings, sculptures, demonstrations, free shuttle buses and more."

"Art Detour is a self-guided tour with free shuttle service of artist studios, art spaces, and other art venues in Downtown Phoenix. This free 3-day event will be held:

Friday, March 4 from 5-10 pm
Saturday, March 5 from noon to 8 pm
Sunday, March 6 from noon-6 pm

Special Opening Artists' Reception:
Thursday, March 3, 6-9 pm at the Central Phoenix Library (located on the corner of Willetta and Central Avenue)

All participating venues are listed in the Art Detour brochure available at most First Friday Spaces and the Central Phoenix Library.

Shuttles will begin the journey from the library.

Art Detour draws an audience of well over 20,000 enthusiastic arts supporters from all over the nation."

I was planning on going Friday night, didn't know that it is going Sat and Sun too. Wow, I bet that it's going to be insanely packed!

Sounds like a great time.  The only trick is convincing Mr. Boo that it will be a great time.....all work and no play you know.

from my past experience, art detour is the perfect time to go if you hate dealing with the first friday crowds.  friday will probably be worse than usual, but saturday and sunday should be super mellow.  good luck!
