Greetings, all.  I am planning to have a Halloween party, since it's my favorite holiday.  The only problem is I don't have access to your normal Halloween decorations because I am in Turkey right now.  I could order some things from amazon.com perhaps, but that would be terribly expensive.  Do you have any ideas for things I could make?   Patterns for cutouts?   Anything!  Thank you Smiley

If you can get a hold of some cheesecloth, then you can stretch and comb that out to resemble fake spiderwebs.  You can buy window markers to decorate glass, mirrors, appliances, etc.  Go to http://images.marthastewart.com/images/content/web/pdfs/pdf1/1005_creepymice.pdf and print out these adorable mice, then put them around the baseboards of your house.  They really look good when you dim the lights.  I think people forget a lot how scary the basic things are - scarecrows and bats especially to me - and you could make a lot of those things from everyday items (scarecrow heads from potato sacks, scrap buttons, old hat, etc.).  If you don't have access to a pumpkin, then carve a jack o'lantern face into some different large gourd or veggie or fruit.  You can cut open a black garbage bag, then cut long skinny strips into it (not going all the way up, though, so they're still connected at the top) and stretch those strips out once you're done.  It'll hang down in tatters, which gives a very creepy effect for an entrance or a photo backdrop.

I love planning parties - come to me if you need any ideas!

I found this www.halloweenmonsterlist.info/ website quite by accident and its got a bit of everything, plus it links to so many other places that it kept me occupied for days. A lot of it is very technical, but talk about inspiration. And that is a correct website- if you type it in it should work.
