My peach Melomel is finally done and bottled up. We didnt use any clearing chemical in it-- it looks pretty clear anyways!!
Wont be able to drink it for a bit -- might open one at Christmas.
The other bottles will have to wait until summer becauswe I want to see if it tastes better after its aged for a bit.

I don't think I've ever heard of Melomel.  Huh Can you tell us more? Peachy anything sounds really tasty, though!

Peach melomel -- is peach juice mixed with honey and yeast added to make a wine. The honey just raises the Alcohol levels and makes it sweeter.
Its good!! Smiley

My boyfriend is just now corking his first batch of mead!!! How long have you been "brewing"? (is it brewing if it's wine?) Anyway, any advice of yummy recipes?

We have been making our own mead for a couple years now -- We keep our own bees for that purpose!!

We are making 2 carboys of honey mead.......chokecherry/grape, raspberry and rhurbarb with honey added too instead of sugars. In a week or 2 we are going to make apple cider.

Honey Mead

This is one of the better sites for LOTS of recipes

We hope to start a meadery in about 5 years and make our wines for retail.
