I am getting married in August and I'm considering making some candies for the reception favors (i.e. lollipops, cookies, hard candy). How long in advance can I make these? Any tips?
Also, any other suggestions for make-it-yourself edible favors that can be made in advance & won't melt (reception is outside).

As far as hard candies go, I would say no more than three days or so, but it depends on how well you wrap them and how humid it is where you live -- I'm in the South, so crunchy things made in summer tend to disintegrate pretty quickly Undecided . Assuming you're using some kind of recipe/instructions, that should include some kind of basic longevity information, ideally.
Other non-melty things -- marzipan? any sort of little fruit tartlet? scones? a jellied candy, like turkish delight, could work (again, better when drier)? taffy, saltwater or otherwise?

I don't really have any advice except make candy on a dry clear day if you can, and be careful with the syrup for hard candy -- sugar at that temperature is ridiculously painful if it gets on you!

hard candy, if made well and stored at a good temperature until just prior the temperature could be good for the upwards of two weeks, i;'d say.  But I'm not expect.  If you do something simple like melt&pour chocolate lollipops, you could keep them quite a bit.  And just made sure that prior to the reception, they are CHILLEd... even frozen. 

If you wanted to do something wicked in advance, I'd so go for tiny mason jars of something you can get really cheap when it is in season
