I always have trouble with those paints that come in a tube (they glob out instead of coming out smoothly), but the paint pens that I've tried have been a lot easier, though for lettering I ALWAYS use one of those dissolvable markers to lay out my text the way I want it to look, before I actually get the paint pen out.

One shirt I would like to make for this election uses that iconic image that I always think of as "Rosie the Riveter", the one with her arm flexed with strength and usually the words "We can do it!" emblazoned across the top, but I'd like to print "Real Women Vote for McCain/Palin!" across the top. Does anybody know what the copyright laws are regarding that image? Is it considered public domain?

Have you seen the "puffy paint" pens around? I came across them on the internet the other day and have since been dying to find some and experiment.

Apparently you draw on fabric or whatever, use a heating tool on it and the paint puffs up like velvet flocking.

RE: Rosie: it's generally considered public domain. Rivet away! Smiley

Those squeezy paints always defeat me in crafting lol. I'll get a huge blob somewhere, or I'll have gaps. It's frustrating. I really like fabric markers, though. Good job.

Those fabric paints in a tube never work out well for me, and I have a tendency to smudge.  Sad
It's great to see so many people passionate about this election, and I like the positive message of your shirt. It doesn't demean anyone.

I love the idea of a Rosie shirt. I'd even buy one if I saw it for sale somewhere!
You could even superimpose Sarah's face over the top. Wouldn't that be funny!?

I'd buy a "Republican Rosie" shirt with Palin's face any day.

Great shirt!

I'm glad everyone likes my shirt! And I'm sorry to see that demeaning comments were posted, so petty. I didn't have trouble with the black fabric paint, it came out smooth, it was the blue I had trouble with! I kept haveing to smooth it out! XD But other than that it was a quick ten minute job that I did before work, and now it's done and I can wear it to my classes tommorrow. It seems that almost everyone at my college is voting Obama, I'm hoping to stir it up a bit! XD

I want one!  Great job on the message, well executed.  The coming weeks will be so interesting, I definitely want something interesting to wear.

I think it's great you are supporting your candidates:)(even if they would not be mine.....course I still can't vote).

I think I will make an "I can see Russia" T shirt.
