So lately I've been wanting to do two things craftwise -make something from my newly acquired vintage Pack O'Funs and make a vintage styled Halloween decoration. I Googled "Vintage Halloween" to get some ideas for the face on my bottle cat (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=275634.0) and also found a picture of a redheaded witch strolling with two jack o'lantern men and a black cat. Then I found a Christmas craft in a 1950s Pack O'Fun that involved folding a paperback book into a body for a Santa. I'm not big on Santa crafts, but decided to use it as a guide for a Jack O'Lantern man.

I also collect vintage food with faces figurines, so I'm super smitten with him!

Here he is:

Here is my inspiration ~

and the Santa in Pack O'Fun (if I had a scanner I'd post it in full):

This is the folded book body (from our booksale rack at work - a forlorn, tattered romance book called Gypsy):

and his foam head, which I carved a mouth into:

I spray painted the pieces orange and then decorated the body with some vintage buttons. His arms and feet are craft foam and his legs are toilet paper rolls. The rest of his face is felt.
Here's a close up:

Happy Halloween, Everyone!
