I totally boosted this idea from sushiluvzombie but I just LOVE this recipe.  I am so pleased with how they turned out and totally jealous that sushiluvzombie found all red M&M's.  I made do with what I had and I now have a rainbow of ladybug colors.  So without further ado here is my version of the Sunflower cupcake:

Hope they taste as good as they look I am taking them to my son's soccer game tomorrow, they'll be gone before you know it!

*edited to give mad love to sushiluvzombie

I would love ladybugs no matter WHAT color they come in Smiley

I used cherry flavored morsels from the baking section at walmart, I inverted them so the flat end was on top and then iced them, it worked and added a nice hint of cherry. If they turn out like mine, they'll be super moist, the oreo will be so soft and the cupcakes should be totally delicous.

I actually ended up wiping off the black icing from the yellow M&M's and making them into bumble bees by putting 3 black stripes across them.  I have a whole garden full of cutesy bugs now!
Thanks for all the compliments!
