I made these outfits for a window display project for school. I chose a mardi gras theme and decided to do 2 flashy outfits and one more "costume-ishhh". (mermaid outfit) made the tutu, tail, everything but the bodice.

and this one is made out of my PROM DRESS with feathers attatched and I made the tutu.

I bought this bra at the thrift store and attatched leopard print fabric and lace to it, and I made the HUGE TUTU. (I LOVE making no-sew tutu's)

Those would definitely be great for Mardi Gras.

How do you make a no-sew tutu?

type in no sew tutu on youtube I think they have videos for it. You basically roll your tulle into a big long strip, cut into strips, take a piece of ribbon, and just tie it on the ribbon, and do like a million of them to make it poofy. hard to explain or I'm just dull, try typing it up on youtube.
