i'm already thinking about making christmas stuff and i'm going to make scarves (and matching hats, if they're lucky) for all the R.A.s in my dorm (ten of them!). Usually when i make something, i make it to suit whoever is going to get it. but if I were to surprise them (and be unable to ask "so, how do you like to wear your scarves?") what would be a good standard length for a scarf? five feet? six? 63 and one-half inches, exactly?

A kind of rule of thumb is to make the scarf as long as they are tall. You can guess on that or ask, since I wouldn't think anything of it if a friend of mine asked how tall i was lol

i make mine 6.5 feet, but they are usually hooded scarves and i turn up the ends for shallow pockets.
