helloo! love all the bright neon colors!!

I have been a busy bee this week. now that summer is ending, i'm doing less outdoorsy stuff and more spinning.

first are 3 mini skeins that i made for a collaberation with a doll-maker. they will be used as doll hair.

if you want to see her beautiful dolls, her shop is here:

2 skeins of my Ambrosia series of core-spun yarns:

Far from Kansas:

Lucky. this is the hugest skein i've ever made, this thing is bigger than my head! I'm going to knit a scarf with it.

happy friday!!!!!!!!!!

I CAN POST AGAIN! Haha. I've been so depressed about a yarn mishap I had a while ago that I haven't been wanting to even post the yarn that made it through. (Long story short, yarn was hanging from the lamp in our living room because the shower it WAS in was being used for.. showering. And the lamp burned half of the yarn I'd spun. Completely unusable. Thank goodness it was in two skeins, because the one that was saved was offset the one that burned. I was sad. lol.)

ANYWAY, yarn porn:

Left to right: RocketPops from TerraBellaSpun Unknown yardage (The batt was a gift. I love the girl who got it for me. lol.) varies from fingering to worsted to SUPER BULKY,
Caribbean Blue BFL & silver firestar from WindRose Fiber Studio (24 yards) varies from fingering to worsted ,
Night Blue soy silk from WRFS about 21 yards (was a pain to work with.) worsted weight,
and a random unknown wool from hobby lobby about 18 yards, roughly fingering weight-ish.

Close up.

I absolutely love looking through the fiber friday posts.  All of you spinners do such beautiful work.  I would love to play with any of your yarns (I hope that reads off like the compliment I intend it to be)

I'm really inspired by how beautiful and creative this week's yarns are!
noodle princess, I love your textures!
nicolassa that's some bad ass pink yarn
natashafatale I love those colours!

My offering isn't as fabulous as all of yours.
I've spun it up to knit wristwarmers for my hubby.
His choice of colours. I wouldn't have picked them, but I think I like it

I finally got back to this thread after a long day. (Had to sneak a peek in at work  Wink )
Isamax I love the Christmas-y colored yarn and cloudlover I adore the Summer Squash batts before and after the spinning.

I don't always post for Fiber Friday but this past week I finished spinning some roving from JulieSpins on Etsy and made a finished object. (My first finished object with my handspun so "Yay" on multiple accounts.)

Here is a picture of in progress and of the completed project.

I was aiming for a hat for myself but since I was just knitting and not following a pattern of any type so it turned out too small.  Sad  Good thing I there's a kid hanging around to wear it I suppose.  Grin

Happy friday everyone!!  Better late than never.. and it's still friday so i'm not really *that* late! LOL!!
I have a bunch to share since I didn't have time to post last week..

This first one might be my fave..
It's supersoft corridale, spun thick and thin, then plied with gold metallic thread and silk fall leaves.
Falling leaves, 55 yards

This next one is 6 Loop "babycakes" (minibatts leftover from her larger batts).. 3 brown, 3 pink/white.  I spun each one in full, repeating brown, pink/white, brown etc..  so there will be color stripes, but the stripes will be slightly different, because each babycake was different.
Neapolitan Goes Glam, 108 yards

This one is more Loop babycakes, this time I used 5 of them.. 4 blues/teals and one gold.  I split each babycake in half, so there will be one repeat of the stripes. I spun 3 of the blues, a gold, then one more blue..  so the gold will really pop.  This yarn reminded me of a mermaid with golden hair..
Mermaid's Delight, 54 yards

This yarn is from a large Loop Spontaneous Batt.. it was a huge fluffy one of golds and yellows and whites.. I spun it SUPER thick and thin with a gold metallic thread candystriping.  This is for the EtsyFast sept challenge, harvest..
Fields of Gold, 87 yards

I love soft spun yarns and this superwash merino was just screaming for it!!  It's super squooshy!!
Seasons Change, 144 yards

So I've done a couple Halloweeny yarns..  this first is from FeltStudioUK batts that I spun thick and thin and added pinches of black and fuscia angelinas and candystriped with a green holosparkle lurex thread and then plied on a shiny black rayon thread
Witches Brew, 54 yards

I had the urge to supercoil, so I had these fun crazy batts from moustacherides that I knew were perfect.  I candystriped the thick and thin single with a thick and thin linen colorchanging thread, and then supercoiled!  I love the effect!
Monster Mash, 17 yards

Of course I had to corespin a bit.. since it's my fave thing ever.. so I corespun a couple..
The first is from totally loaded batts from terrabellaspun.. full of all sorts of fun stuff...
Everything on Hand, 71 yards

This is corespun from some of woolytreasures mini batts..
Meadow Dreams, 54 yards

This is from my aug hobbledehoy club batts.. I got them and had to spin them right away..  it's squooshtastic!!  Merino with sparkle.. spun thick and thin with extra pinches of angelina..
Miami Heat, 76 yards

This one is fun, and totally "intertwined" inspired..  bits of 'ugly batts' spun thick and thin and candystriped with cassette tape
80's Mix Tape, 44 yards

Here's a couple with crocheted embellishements..  the batt is from funky carolina.. merino/silk.. spun thick and thin with extra angelina in copperish green and chocolate brown..
Daisy Garden, 53 yards

Fall Blooms, 42 yards

Finally.. one more set of batts from FeltStudioUK.. these were a SUPERFUN explosion of color..  I spun the single thick and thin, then plied it with a rainbow holosparkle lurex thread and added a couple of strands of sequins that daniella included..
Celebrate, 73 yards

Whew..  have a great weekend everyone!!

Yeh my very first FiberFriday post! I'm pretty new to spinning, so here it goes....

Flying Fox
Any more Lush fans over here? This one is inspired by Flying Fox.
It's blue skies with fluffy clouds and foxy fox colors and fluffy foxtails hanging out.
That with a twist of gold and milky silk.
Hope you like it!

ingredients: merino, silk, gold christmas stuff, flax, embroidering threads

And here is Autumn Fever. Some Koolaid dyed coiled handspun.
My first coils!! I love the colors!
