Frankly, I think another part of the reason they got such a large response is that pop ups don't appear frequently here, and so we don't automatically click them off without reading them.  That, and it is a community in a sense.  We're willing (usually eager) to help each other and things that are designed to improve the website (and help Leah and the mods).

If it were photobucket, I probably wouldn't have even read the pop up before I closed it (not that there's anything wrong with photbucket. It's just not craftster).

The most recent survey (still on the Home page) sure did fill up fast! I tried to participate the other day and it said it had already gotten enough information. Nosy me...what was the survey about?

Hey, dawt!  I split and merged you with the thread about the latest survey.  Check out the first post for some info about it. Smiley

I do not like surveys, I'd rather be learning or doing than "getting a chance to win.

I think most people participated in order to illumine the phenomenon that is Craftster...

Social networking online is still a relatively unexamined subject, and Craftster has mushroomed into a huge community of remote, but sometimes intimate, friends who have never met face to face, so it's perfect for that kind of analysis. That craftsters quickly filled out the survey in droves demonstrates their selfless, generous mentalities, which we see all the time in tutorials and encouragements posted here.

I took the survey, which as I remember, was a long one with a lot of opportunities to spontaneously offer observations, but had completely forgotten there was some reward or incentive for doing so...
