i love like.. old school sailor style tattoos.. and jsut the history of tattoos in general.. so i thought i would start putting some designs on things... but what? so i went to goodwill the other day, just lookin.. where i got amazingly cute retro flower plates and a few mugs, an adorable little end table that i just spray painted red in the parking lot (haha, im living in dorms!) and then i had spotted this cute little cosmetic case.. cream.. kinda fake alligator covered.. and i left it there because it was 7.99.. (i'm cheap!). so i went back thinking.. i gotta get that case and paint it.. and when i went back.. it was yellow tags were 50% off! so yay!! new amazing cosmetic case for 4 bucks!

what do you all think? what would you suggest putting over it so it wont scratch/flake off because of the shiny and smooth fake alligator fabric?

This is awesome! I love the phrase "born beautiful"  on a cosmetic case!!! Keep up the good work and whatever you use to seal it, make sure it won't yellow your great job!

Beautiful, such a lovely case!

Would a normal gloss varnish not work?
(I'm not a painter so I'm really unsure)

Really nice painting-I would think that you could just spray varnish it.
