This recipe came from Cupcakes Galore, I believe. I modified it a little, because my dad hates raisins and they were a birthday gift for him. The cake was delicious, as was the topping, but the topping didn't want to stay on the cakes, so I stuck it back on with some peanut butter. If I make them again, which is likely, I'll probably just put peanut butter icing on them and garnish with a piece of peanut brittle.

I love that cookbook, it has a ton of great recipes, I am baking my way through it, though this is one we have all been weary of... glad to hear someone made it and it's good, I will have to put it on the to make list.  And thanks for the tip about the "topping"  I will probably substitute a crunchy peanut butter icing for them instead now.
