Hmmm, I love the necklaces. Whoever said anything about lopster clasps could be right. Males have bigger fingers than girls, so it would be hard and fidgity to get those toggles to work. Lopster claps would be a better option, atleast in my opinion.

Very cool stuff...I've made guy's jewlery but it just doesn't seem to sell...though my boyfriend asks for a new necklace every now & then. I see boys on campus wearing hemp or surfer-type jewelry, but I guess they just don't make it to the shops/shows where I sell my stuff, go figure! As for the clasp debate...I use both lobster and toggle...I think the lobster are more secure, but the toggle are way better for heavy pieces, especially bracelets. It is a matter of personal preference, though. When I do a show, I always bring all my findings & wire, because inevitably someone will love the item but hate the clasp.

quite lovely.  i've heard a lot of guys prefer the lobster claw clasps because they are likely to put on a necklace and leave it on, so it feels less like it could come apart.  Also, the claw type clasps are less obvious if your jewelry tends to flop around a bit and you wind up with the clasp in the front.  Anyone know how to prevent that?

i LOVE these.  as far as the clasp debate, if you are making them for yourself go with the clasp you like wearing.  i think the toggle looks great.  i have never worn jewelry with a toggle though, i like to wear stuff with lobster clasps because i don't change my jewelry and i like for them to feel like they are securely on.

I've been afraid to use toggles for necklaces since I made one for a friend and somehow it slipped off while she was wearing it, and she never even noticed.  They make me nervous now, though I love the way they look.

It seems that if the piece is heavier, a toggle is ok cuz gravity keeps it together...but I wouldn't be doing jumping jacks or anything crazy like that...though I did wear a bracelet I made to a concert and it survived the clapping & other craziness with flying colors...I draw the line at those cheap spring clasps, though...they fail all too often

I absolutely LOVE the second one, with the green and silver and black...it's very beautiful! Smiley

I want your promo stickers...your fave local band, your etsy shop, your zine, a sticker you picked off a bar wall, or even bumper stickers! I'm covering a table & need stickers! PM me!
