For my first fashion history project I had to make a cornell box with a thematic idea from a decade in the 20th century. As being a fifties chick, I couldn't help but choose that era. I chose the decade 1946-1956 femininity and conformity and came up with the idea of glamour. If you don't know what a cornell box is here is a link:
Basically, it is a shadowbox using found objects.

I used a postal flat rate box (12x12) I cut it down to 3" deep and used the flaps for the dividers. I used enamel paint and double back tape to construct and attach everything. I used circle mirrors, a ceramic doll, chandelier crystals left over from my chandelier revamp, an old pin, and old scrabble pieces.

What do you think? Do you think this captures the era of glamour with out being too much?
