And I am NEVER doing this again. A lady I know is adopting a special needs baby from Vietname and while making this skirt for MY daughter, it was screaming at me to be sent to baby N.

74 squares of my absolute FAVORITE fabrics that I cried while cutting. But it was sooo worth it. I didn't put in a waistband because I am not sure how old baby N will be so I'm trying to decide between elastic that I close with a pin, or a drawstring.

Finished

Construction

Starting to gather the layers

Almost done

Any thoughts on whether I should do it with elastic & a pin or a drawstring?

How sweet of you to give it to the adopted baby!  Good work.

elastic.  Draw strings on children are just asking for it.  I've learnt the hard way.

It's gorgeous, Im thinking of taking on the task of making one...but Im also a big fan of all my hair being on my head and not in torn out clumps on the ground.

love the skirt, have you thought about the adjustable elastic with the buttons like on kids clothes or even the maternity pants.  I've put a few in and the pants, skirts, or shorts can be worn for much longer.  Goin after try these out for my DDs soon.

I'm not happy, I'm cheerful. There's a difference.
