I know alot of people on here choose to cloth diaper their infants/toddlers, and to use cloth menstrual pads. These two topics are so closely related that most consider them to be the same thing. I think it would be great if there was one area for all of that, including, but not limited to:

Wet bags
Materials advice
Diaper covers/soakers
Patterns: testing and help with designing
Cleaning issues, and making your own cleaning products for them
Cloth wipes

Anyone else think this is a good idea? I mean, I am already a member of cloth_pads and diy_pads on livejournal, but I think this is much more the type of forum where I could get some danged help on the issues I have when making them! Plus, I plan to cloth diaper my children as soon as I get around to having them, and I'd love to have one centralized location to look (not having to check "baby showers" and "children's clothing" and "knitting" and "crocheting" and "recycling") to find help and inspiration. I really think this would be a great addition, and maybe encourage others to try these things out?

I second this! I'm at an age now where all my friends are having babies, and I'm the only one in the group that sews, so I've slowly begun making cloth diapers for my friends. BUT, finding a good place to get help and find resources has been hard! Everything on the topic is so scattered over the internet (and craftster) that I've had a hard time getting advice on materials, different types and styles of cloth diapers, what works best, what kind of diaper pail, etc. etc.

I use craftster for just about everything, and I'd LOVE to see a section for this!

I think that is a great idea!  I have been making my own diapers and covers for my daughters.  It would be so nice to get new ideas from other craftsters!  Grin

I am a cloth-nappying, cloth-using Mama but I don't agree, sorry guys.

I don't think there's enough different projects in these categories to warrant their own separate sub-section.

That said, I love both my fuzzy-bottomed baby boy, and my homemade cloth pads - hoping the new tag system will help us all find each others' projects amongst the sewing boards!

[And mamas looking for help and advice, there are some super fabulous livejournal communities on these topics - check out

This would probably be a good thing to use the Tags feature for, though!

Cloth pads are also sometimes posted in the Bath & Beauty section, just FYI if you're looking for them!

That sounds great. I was thinking of making some to sell at my craft show I want to do and a friend is going to have a baby in Dec. So I thought that would be a great gift.
But I don't have a pattern or whatever to follow by to make sure they look like diapers.

Seeing as I will very soon be a new mom, I would love to see a board with all sorts of projects/inspiration intended for babies, tots, and parents. It would be nice rather than sifting through searches. . .
